Maylie and Carter's Birthdays!

Maylie turned 3 years old on the 16th of February! I can't believe how time flies. Of course, she wanted a pink piggy cake! Everyone knows how she adores pink pigs- even Grandma Great! She was so thrilled when I showed it to her- note her face below!

Pretty Big Present!

She unwrapped that huge thing to discover a tea set and kitchen set! She also got a table and chairs. Ryan was really thrilled to particpate in the first tea party- no really, he was! He's looking at me like "you bought more toys? And this one is huge, where will we put it? No more toys. O.K.?"

Love my little 3 year old girl!

Carter turned 5 on the 21st of February! He wanted a spaceship for his cake! So, I constructed this cake- not a simple task, especially considering it fell over twice! But he loved it! He wanted me to put one of his guys in it, but I could only fit a small monkey Maylie had- which I thought very appropriate!

The monkey is posed so that his arm is covering his eyes like he's scared! Even more appropriate!

Carter got a cowboy town, trios ( he loves them), a summer outfit, and a quilt for his bed that took me 3 years to finish!

All in all, I think they had some pretty good birthdays. But I'm a little birthdayed out! It just makes me so sad to see them growing up- and birthdays are not a welcome reminder of that! I love them so so much!

2010 Wrap Up

This is an overview of the past 4 months for those who still look! I'm not very good at updating- so this should get us by for the next 4 months! No, really, I am going to try harder. Carter and Maylie went to their first birthday party- besides family! Our neighbor across the street has a boy, a year younger than Carter, named Jack. I guess he loves the Beetles! Our last summer camping trip with Grandma and Grandpa Crossley. We spent the weekend in Lowman. We hiked a little ways in on the 10 Mile Trailhead- a family tradition! It was fun to show Ry my childhood vacation!

Pumpkin Carving! Maylie was old enough this year to understand she really wanted a princess pumpkin!

Cadon just wanted to eat it!

It takes Mom 10 minutes to rake them up- it takes the kids 10 seconds to scatter them again! But I wouldn't have it any other way- love this time of year!

In case you can't tell in the picture, Carter was a pirate for Halloween this year. Maylie was Raggedy Anne and Cadon made a very cute giraffe!

We had Thanksgiving at my Grandma's home in Emmett. Maylie just adores her- as I always did! We love Grandma- Great!

The kids made a gingerbread house with Grandma! They kind of went nuts on this little craft. No matter what we do at Grandma's, they get super excited! They love visiting "Grandma and Grandpa in Boise!"

Our first snow of the year after Thanksgiving- we went out to build a snowman! Cadon was having a hard time walking, as he was bundled like a marshmallow- so I think he just gave up! I turned around and this was what he looked like! He stayed there long enough for Ry to take a picture and never once cried out for help at all!

As you can see, we have had a wonderful year! We are truly blessed with family and friends, whom we love so very much! Thank you all for the things you do for our family!

Our Fun Summer- in a Nutshell!

We had an awesome summer from start to finish! Here's a look at about half of the events that took place this summer:

Lotsa Pool Parties!

Some with friends, some with cousins! Surprise Birthday Parties! (Mainly one for my 50 year old Dad!) We went cowboy theme- hat and all! Looks good! Farnworth Family Reunion-loved catching up with everyone!

The Crossley Family Reunion

We went down to Boise for the Crossley Family Reunion. We had so much fun and it was wonderful to see the growth and changes that have occurred over the past two years. So many adorable babies! Thanks to Mike and Kathy, who did all the planning and made everyone's day memorable! This picture is of the kids with my grandma... their Great-Grandma Crossley. The kids participated in a pillow case race. Carter thinks he won. Maylie didn't even attempt to jump in that thing.

The kids got to dress up in funny hats and march around the pavillion in a parade. They were all so cute!

Our Forever Family!

THANKS to Brandi...

we have adorable family pictures! I rushed her to take them on a very busy week for both of our families- and I owe her alot because they turned out way cute! Not to mention the very next morning Maylie fell on our driveway and skinned her entire nose and eyebrow! I kind of owe Ry as well, we did them on his birthday- he doesn't like taking pictures and on his birthday? Double whamy! But he was awesome and didn't hesitate to come home and do them! Anyway, we SO appreciate it- thanks Brandi!

Rollerskating

This is the kids' first rollerskating experience- and they loved it! We thought they'd be bored and frustrated after ten minutes- but after an hour, we couldn't pull them away from the rink! Maylie threw a huge fit everytime Ryan dropped her off to me and took Carter out for a turn. Carter soon got the hang of it and followed the edge of the rink holding onto the railing. We were surprised at how well he caught on. Cadon was really grumpy and wouldn't let me out of his sight- but I passed him off to Ry to go out with the kids a couple of laps. It turned out to be a great idea and we all loved spending time together!

Carter's 4th Birthday!

Of course, always being like dad, Carter wanted a firetruck for his birthday cake! I didn't get to spend as much time on it as I would have liked- I also ran out of gray frosting- but, I still think it turned out pretty cute. It was a wonderful day for Carter and I was so excited to get it all ready for him! If he had caught her taste-testing, it would have started a fight. So, she was never chastised for sticking her finger in the red lights!

We had family dinner at Grandma Miles' with all the cousins! Carter loved having everyone just "watching" not "helping" open gifts. (He told me this on the way home!)

I made a huge canvas car mat for one of his gifts! He loves it and plays with it all the time. So, it was worth the solid week and a half it took me to draw, outline, and color it!

Can't believe I have a four year old!
